Provincial Capitol, Bataan – The highly anticipated ferry service between Orion, Bataan and Manila will kick off next month.
In a meeting Tuesday with Gov. Abet S. Garcia, Gani Cabrera, Chief Executive Officer and President of Fahrenheit Co., Ltd. (FCL), a Subic based company said that the firm is set to start ferry services by February.
“Our ferry boats are so fast and durable compared to others,” Cabrera told the governor.
Cabrera said that they will initially deploy two ferry boats that will be stationed in Orion Port and in Roxas Boulevard.
“We are targeting to start before the end of February. Actually, we have already tug boats and rubber boats stationed in the Port of Orion,” said Cabrera.
The Orion – Manila trip will take only 45 minutes, making Bataan more accessible to Metro Manila.
The Port of Orion had been rehabilitated with spacious and concreted parking area, a uniquely designed transparent office, initiated through the efforts of Garcia and the Philippine Ports Authority.
Several ferry boat companies previously served this route, but prohibitive fees discouraged passengers.
FCL has other business interests, including general constructions, land development, sub-contracting, trans-shipment of agricultural and marine products, quarrying and mining.
FCL is currently engaged in the export of aggregates to the Micronesia and mineral products to various places in China including Dalian and Tianjin.
